Responsible Industry in Action
How Leadership at Goa Carbon Limited is Driving Industrial Growth and Community Transformation
In the evolving landscape of modern industry, companies are expected to deliver more than production efficiency and financial performance. Increasingly, industries are being evaluated by their ability to contribute positively to society while maintaining operational excellence.
Goa Carbon Limited has emerged as an example of how responsible industry can successfully combine business performance, community engagement, and sustainable development.
At the heart of this approach is a leadership framework built on vision, strategy, and operational execution. Guiding this journey are three key leaders
Chairman Sri Shrinivas V. Dempo, Executive Director Mr. Anupam Misra, and Mr. Venugopala Naidu Allu, General Manager – Operations (Unit Head) at the Paradeep Unit.

Translating this vision into measurable action is Mr. Anupam Misra, Executive Director of Goa Carbon Limited.
Under his guidance, the company has adopted a structured and impact-driven CSR framework, ensuring that community initiatives deliver meaningful and measurable outcomes.
Rather than viewing CSR as a symbolic activity, the organization focuses on long-term social impact through partnerships with credible and experienced institutions. By collaborating with specialized foundations, Goa Carbon Limited ensures that its development initiatives are implemented effectively and aligned with community needs.
For livelihood development and women’s empowerment initiatives, the company works closely with the Bansidhar & Ila Panda Foundation (BIPF), which plays a key role in implementing programs such as Project Unnati.
In addition, the company partners with the Vasantrao Dempo Education and Research Foundation (VDERF) for initiatives related to educational development and community infrastructure support. Through this collaboration, several projects aimed at strengthening local education systems and improving community facilities have been implemented.
This structured partnership model allows Goa Carbon Limited to ensure that its CSR initiatives are professionally executed, socially impactful, and sustainable over the long term.
A prominent example is Project Unnati, which operates across 15 villages in the Kujanga Block of Odisha, including Gram Panchayats such as Biswali, Paradeepgarh, Bhootamundai, Mangarajpur, and Bhitargarh Colony in Paradeep Municipality.
The initiative focuses on reviving inactive women-led Self-Help Groups and transforming them into sustainable livelihood enterprises through training, awareness programs, and government scheme linkages.
