Poland’s Robert Lewandowski wins FIFA Best Player award this year. The 32-year-old football striker has ended up dominating Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. He was honoured at the Virtual Awards Ceremony in Zurich on Thursday.
Leandoski, who won the Player of the Year in the UEFA men’s category this year, was the main contender for the FIFA award. There was a voting on who would be the winner. It also included some national team coaches, captains and some journalists and fans.
Lewandowski won the 2019-20 Champions League. In addition, Lewandowski made Bayern Munich the winners of the German League, the German Cup and the UEFA Super Cup. He has scored 55 goals in 44 matches in the 2019-20 season.
He won the award, beating Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. Messi won the award six times last year. Ronaldo has also won the award six times.
