Writer and author Rohit Shetty has been honoured with the prestigious Dr. Sarvepalli Radha Krishnan National Award, recognising his contribution to writing and his growing body of literary work.
The award, presented under the spirit of “Honour • Inspire • Celebrate” and “Recognising Excellence. Inspiring Generations,” celebrates individuals whose work contributes meaningfully to society and inspires others. The recognition comes as an important milestone in Shetty’s journey as an emerging author.
A commerce graduate from Mumbai University, Rohit Shetty currently works as an Accounts Associate with an education company based in Mumbai. While writing initially began as a hobby for him, his passion gradually developed into a serious literary pursuit, eventually leading to the publication of four books.
Three of his published works particularly reflect his versatility as a writer, spanning poetry, nature and personal development.
From Love and Emotions to Self-Development
One of Shetty’s works, Straight from the Heart – A Collection of Love and Lovely Poems, explores the many dimensions of love and admiration. Through poetry, the book reflects on the special place certain people hold in our lives and examines questions surrounding the meaning and experience of love.
His self-help book, When Success is the Only Choice, takes a different direction. The book presents 11 core principles aimed at helping readers develop self-belief, focus, positivity, perseverance and a purposeful approach towards life. Combining inspirational anecdotes, practical exercises and motivational insights, the book seeks to encourage students, professionals and readers from different walks of life to take greater control of their goals and aspirations.
Shetty has also explored his appreciation for the natural world through Nature is Wow!!!, a collection of poems celebrating nature and its remarkable creations. From trees and birds to flowers and the wider beauty surrounding us, the book attempts to capture the essence of nature through poetic expression while encouraging readers to become more aware of its many blessings.
With four books already to his name, Shetty has established writing as an important part of his creative journey. Most of his books are available through e-commerce platforms, allowing his work to reach readers beyond his immediate surroundings.
For Shetty, the journey from considering writing a hobby to becoming a published author and now receiving a national-level honour represents a significant personal achievement. His work demonstrates his interest in exploring different forms of writing—from poetry and reflections on nature to motivational and self-help literature.
The Dr. Sarvepalli Radha Krishnan National Award adds another meaningful chapter to this journey, providing recognition for his literary efforts and encouraging him to continue creating.
Looking ahead, Rohit Shetty intends to write more books and connect with a larger audience, with the aim of taking his ideas, experiences and creative expression to an increasingly wider readership.
His journey serves as an example of how a personal passion can gradually evolve into a meaningful creative pursuit—with dedication, consistency and the courage to share one’s work with the world.
