His journey from a young MBA graduate to a multifaceted entrepreneur spearheading successful ventures across infrastructure, finance, and logistics is a testament to his indomitable spirit and keen business acumen.
S. Kanhu Ranjan Prusty entrepreneurial journey began in 2000, shortly after completing his MBA from Karnataka University. With a humble start as a sub-distributor for FMCG giants like Britannia, Horlicks, and Haldiram’s, and a foray into telecommunications with Reliance, he quickly gathered valuable cross-industry experience. This early exposure laid a strong foundation for the versatile business mind he would later become.
A pivotal turn came in 2002 when he joined Kinetic Marketing & Services Ltd., a sister concern of Kinetic Engineering Ltd. Within a year, the urge to create something of his own took over. Drawing from his deep understanding of automobiles, finance, and insurance, he launched Dreamz Marketing & Services, a financial solutions venture associated with ICICI Bank and ICICI Lombard. Through this, he began delivering personalized services in car loans, personal loans, home loans, and insurance, marking his entry into the world of financial consulting.
Though Dreamz continues to be a key element in his portfolio, it became a springboard rather than a destination. S. Kanhu Ranjan Prusty professional path is defined not just by businesses but by strategic evolution. After gaining substantial experience across FMCG, telecom, automobiles, finance, and insurance, he boldly transitioned into infrastructure development—a sector that would go on to define much of his legacy. He established a 100 TPH stone crushing unit, ventured into aggregate mining, and began importing bitumen, cementing his role in Odisha’s construction ecosystem.
Recognizing the region’s infrastructural needs, in 2015 he founded Totalway Logistics and Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd., alongside his wife, Mrs. G. Padmini Patro, With licenses and contracts from the Odisha government, Totalway rapidly grew into a reliable player in road and building infrastructure development. Today, the company handles critical construction projects across the state, supported by a reputation for quality and timely delivery.

S. Kanhu Ranjan Prusty also secured dealerships for leading construction equipment brands like TEREX VECTRA and became an authorized stockist for ULTRA TECH Cement in the Rourkela region. His firm expanded to ten branches across Odisha, employing over a hundred people—a reflection of both ambition and execution. His ability to blend technical capability with strategic vision continues to set him apart.
Currently, he also serves as the distributor for HINCOL, a sister concern of HPCL, handling operations across Odisha. His focus on logistics and supply chain efficiency plays a crucial role in facilitating road and civil construction throughout the state.
Beyond the boardroom, Mr. Prusty is deeply engaged in civic leadership. Recently elected Secretary of the Lions Club, Bhubaneswar for 2025–26, he is also a life member and director of several elite organizations, including the Utkal Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Rourkela Chamber of Commerce, Bhubaneswar Club, and Bhubaneswar gulf club. Indo-German Club, among others. His contributions to the business and social fabric of Odisha reflect a balance of entrepreneurship and community service.
One of the key takeaways from his journey is the importance he places on resilience, strategic thinking, and building strong relationships. “Understanding client needs and maintaining trust are at the heart of my approach,” he says. These values have helped him sustain and grow across volatile markets and sectors.
Looking ahead, S Kanhu Ranjan Prusty envisions scaling his ventures further by embracing technology, entering new markets, and building strong partnerships. But at the core of it all, his mission remains unchanged—to create opportunities, foster growth, and build a legacy rooted in impact and innovation.
