Safe City Drive: The Twin City Commissionerate Police Collect More Than Rs. 52,000,00 in Penalties From Offenders

The Bhubaneswar Urban Police has been implementing the “Safe City Drive” campaign as per the instructions of the DCP, Bhubaneswar, over the past few days in an effort to reduce crime in advance of the impending Durga Puja celebration. In several police station areas, the Bhubaneswar Urban Police have intensified the patrolling system. While the public is being warned against using alcohol, using drugs, and engaging in other illegal acts like car checks, officers and staff from different police stations, POPD, and Team-60 are engaged in patrolling. Where appropriate, penalties are imposed.

The Bhubaneswar city police will keep up their “Safe City Drive” campaign in light of the approaching Durga Puja season. While this was going on, the Commissionerate Police reported 1,513 cases of open drinking (OUP), collected penalties of Rs 7,56,500 from 337 violators of the COTPA, and also launched 37 Excise cases and confiscated 584.41 liters of alcohol. Additionally, 89 property offenders, 31 anti-social elements, and 27 other people have been detained by the Commissionerate Police.

The total fine levied against these criminals was Rs 8,30,3000, while additional penalties of Rs 43,69,000 were levied on violators of traffic laws by several police stations in the nation’s capital.
