Saif Ali Khan stabbing: Assailant escapes the scene, Mumbai Police detains several suspects

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan sustained multiple stab wounds during a suspected burglary attempt at his Bandra residence in Mumbai early Thursday. The attacker reportedly fled the scene after the stabbing when other people in the house began to wake up. The police have launched a manhunt to capture the assailant.

The Mumbai Police have initiated the process of registering a First Information Report (FIR) and formed several teams to track down the attacker. Officials from the Mumbai Crime Branch, including officer Daya Nayak, were seen arriving at the actor’s home as part of the investigation.

A statement from the police confirmed the attempted burglary, adding, “Saif Ali Khan is currently in the hospital undergoing surgery. We ask the media and fans to remain patient as this is a police matter. We will keep you updated on the situation.”

Saif Ali Khan sustained several injuries, including one near his spine, when a robber reportedly broke into his residence in Mumbai’s Bandra (West) and stabbed him around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday.

A doctor at Leelavati Hospital, where the actor is receiving treatment, spoke to HT on the condition of anonymity, confirming that while the actor suffered multiple wounds, he is able to move his hands and legs. The doctor also reassured that his spine appears to be unaffected. Additionally, doctors discovered a fragment of the knife lodged in his body.
