‘Sala Budda’ fame Sambhalpuri cine artist Atal Bihari Panda passed away on early Saturday morning at the age of 92 while undergoing treatment for blood septicaemia at the hospital.
According to the report, the actor breathed his last while undergoing treatment for blood septicemia at Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Science and Research (VIMSAR) at Burla.
The report further added that he was under treatment for the last few days at the premier health institute of western Odisha. He died at 3.45 am following multiple organ failure. He was admitted to the hospital following some geriatric related ailments.
The Sambhalpuri cine artist was a popular and household name in western Odisha due to his phenomenal acting skill. He had portrayed numerous characters in hundreds of theatres and plays and was also the scriptwriter of numbers of plays.
At the age of 83, he had made his debut in the Sambalpuri feature film ‘Sala Budha’ directed by Sabyasachi Mohapatra which had won awards in several categories in Odisha Film Award. Panda was a recipient of numerous awards including two Odisha State film awards.
