Satya Prakash Panda Bhawan Opens in Puri to Serve Jagannath Devotees

Puri, Odisha: A new dharmashala named Satya Prakash Panda Bhawan has been inaugurated in Puri to provide affordable and comfortable accommodation to devotees visiting the sacred Sri Jagannath Temple. Located in Shyamakali Lane, Bali Sahi — just 400 meters from the temple’s south gate — the facility aims to support the spiritual journey of pilgrims arriving from across the country.

The dharmashala offers dormitory-style accommodation equipped with beds, mattresses, and individual storage boxes. In addition to lodging, it also provides pure vegetarian lunch for devotees, served daily at noon. The maximum duration of stay is two days, with check-out scheduled by 11:00 AM on the third day.

To maintain hygiene and ensure smooth functioning, each devotee is requested to contribute a nominal donation of ₹20 per day. Guests are expected to bring their own bedsheet and a lock and key for securing personal belongings. Carrying a valid Aadhaar card is mandatory for all visitors.

Special arrangements, including a separate hall and toilet facilities, have been made for female pilgrims, ensuring both comfort and safety during their stay.

Easily accessible by electric or auto rickshaw from the railway station and bus stand, the dharmashala is expected to ease the accommodation challenges faced by many during peak pilgrimage seasons. Devotees are advised to confirm availability at least 24 hours prior to their arrival.

Rooted in service and devotion, Satya Prakash Panda Bhawan is a humble tribute to the spirit of Sri Kshetra and a welcome addition to the hospitality infrastructure for Jagannath devotees.
