SBI Sends All Electoral Bonds to EC India

New Delhi: on Tuesday  The State Bank of India has submitted all poll bonds-related data to the Election Commission of India. According to a poll panel, “In compliance with Hon’ble Supreme Court’s directions to the SBI, contained in its order dated February 15 and March 11, 2024, (in the matter of WPC NO.880 of 2017), data on electoral bonds has been supplied by State Bank of India to Election Commission of India, today, March 12, 2024,posted on X  by a  spoke person of the poll panel.

 

The EC( Election Commission) of India will post all the updated data on its website on March 15, 2024, for the general public. The ECI will also make the electoral bonds filings public which was only submitted to the Supreme Court in sealed covers till now sources Said.

 

 

Notably, the State Bank Of India  is the only authorized financial institution under the Centre’s  Electorals bonds scheme that allows anonymous political funding.  Further, the Supreme court Of India has also directed the Election Commission to publish the information shared by the bank on its official website by 5 pm on March 15.The State Bank Of India had said the retrieval of information on electoral bonds from “each silo” and the procedure of matching the information of one silo to that of the other would be a time-consuming exercise.
