“Sehwag has no idea what respect is.” Shakib takes a dig

Shakib Al Hasan and Virender Sehwag are at the centre of a growing controversy after Imrul Kayes attacked the former India opener for his comments about the brilliant Bangladesh all-rounder. After dismissing Shakib cheaply in the opening two matches against South Africa and Sri Lanka, Sehwag recently said that Shakib ought to quit. Sehwag among others was among Shakib’s detractors, but he responded appropriately when he scored an undefeated 64 to help Bangladesh defeat the Netherlands and advance to the T20 World Cup Super Eights.

It’s true that Sehwag has previously made fun of Bangladesh. It all started at the 2011 World Cup when he played down rumours that Bangladesh was a scary team before India’s match against the Tigers. Bangladesh defeated India 2-1 in the ODI series in December 2022 and outplayed them in the 2022 T20 World Cup.”He has made comments like this before on Bangladesh or its cricket players. He said that Bangladesh couldn’t take 20 wickets in a Test match, and he said this once before. I have no idea what a great batter like him thinks before he says things like these. Pros like Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar would never criticise a player because they understand
