Severe Heatwave Conditions Expected To Persist In Odisha Till April 27

With scorching temperatures and thunderstorms expected in numerous districts of Odisha, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a number of warnings, including orange and yellow alerts. For a number of Odisha districts, the IMD has issued heat wave advisories, with distinct alerts for several dates:

On April 25, an orange warning has been issued for heatwave conditions in Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Boudh, Balangir, Sonepur, and Sundargarh districts, while a yellow warning has been issued for Nuapada, Bargarh, Kalahandi, Deogarh, Angul, and other districts.

For April 26, IMD issued an orange warning for Balangir and Sambalpur districts, and a yellow warning for Sonepur, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Boudh, Nuapada, and Bargarh districts.

On April 27, a yellow warning has been issued for heatwave conditions in Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, and Boudh districts.

On April 28, thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) are expected in Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Koraput, and Malkangiri districts, while several other districts may experience thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph).

On April 29, thunderstorms with lightning, gusty winds (50-60 kmph), and hailstorms with heavy rain are predicted in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhargarh, Balasore, Bhadrak, and Ganjam districts, while Koraput district may experience thunderstorms with lightning, gusty winds (40-50 kmph), and hailstorms.
