Another significant milestone in the State’s renewable energy journey was reached when Vishal Kumar Dev, Principal Secretary, Energy Department, Govt. of Odisha, presided over the 10th Single Window Committee (SWC) meeting under the Odisha Renewable Energy Policy-2022. In order to improve Odisha’s sustainable energy infrastructure, the committee approved seven renewable energy (RE) projects in concept at its tenth meeting. These projects have a combined capacity of 149.97 MW and an investment of ₹1191.47 Crore.
Two 95.7 MW wind power projects, four 53.97 MW ground-based solar projects, and the first 0.6 MWh battery storage project are among the authorized projects. These initiatives will highlight the State’s dedication to reaching its renewable energy targets under the Odisha Renewable Energy Policy-2022 by utilizing the state’s inherent capacity for producing renewable energy.
In his remarks, Vishal Dev underlined the role that renewable energy plays in promoting long-term, sustainable economic growth. He reaffirmed the government’s dedication to promoting investments and guaranteeing the prompt execution of authorized projects. The panel also evaluated the status of many projects that were authorized at the 9th SWC meeting. Participants at the meeting included representatives from the Energy Department, Water Resources Department, Revenue & DM Department, GRIDCO, OPTCL, Electricity Distribution Companies, OHPC, and EIC (Electricity).
