Similipal National Park in Mayurbhanj district is all set to reopen for the tourists from November 1, this year. Asia’s second-largest biosphere reserve was closed due to a surge in cases of Covid in May 2021.
But now with the cases slowly getting declined, the park is all set to reopen for the tourists from November 1, 2021. Similipal Tiger Reserve Director stated that tourists will be allowed entry to the national park under strict adherence to Covid protocols.
Further, visitors will be allowed entry into the national park through two gates – one at Pithabata from the Baripada side and the other Kaliami gate from Jashipur between 6 to 9 am. People will be allowed to visit the national park after verification of necessary details.
The authorities of the park have informed that people shouldn’t carry any sort of plastic during the ride. They have further decided that this year they will completely ban plastic in the national park and they will promote decomposable plant-based products
