In response to claims that Nityananda Nayak, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of the Kendu Leaf Division in Keonjhar district, has disproportionate assets beyond his recognized sources of income, Odisha Vigilance conducted simultaneous searches at seven sites on Sunday. An official news statement states that ten inspectors, three Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), and other support staff are overseeing the searches.
These operations are based on search warrants issued by the Special Judge of Vigilance in Keonjhar.
The targeted locations span across Angul, Keonjhar, and Nayagarh districts and include:
- A four-storeyed building in Angul
- Nayak’s paternal house in Village Madanmohan Patna, PS Bantala, Angul district
- House of his in-law at Jagannathpur, Angul
- Office of the DFO, Kendu Leaf Division, Keonjhar
- Government residential quarters in Keonjhar
- Residence of his son at Komanda, Nayagarh district
- Office chamber of his son at PHC, New Komanda, Nayagarh district
The search operations are currently underway. Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
