In the last five years (from 2020 to March 2024) in Odisha, the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) has cleared up to 512 large industrial projects totaling investments of Rs 11, 85, 281.40 crore. Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain disclosed this in the Odisha Assembly on Friday in response to a written question from BJP MLA from Bhatli Irasis Acharya.
The Minister said, “It is estimated that these industries create 5,71,303 jobs.” According to him, thirty sizable industrial initiatives have either fully or partially reached operationalization to date.
He continued, “It is projected to require an investment of Rs 19,528.66 crore and create 20251 jobs when fully operational.”
