As part of the Kirti Puraskar Scheme of the Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, Dr. S. P. Mohanty, Chairman and Managing Director of HIL (India) Limited, was presented with the prestigious “Rajbhasha Award” (Shield) by Home Minister Amit Shah.
SP Mohanty has been given the additional responsibility of the Director (Production) position at Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Limited (BVFCL). Since October 1, 2021, he has held the positions of Chairman and Managing Director for the company. When Digambar Sahai left his position on August 31 due to retirement, he was given an additional charge of the position. Mohanty has been given additional charge of the post for a period of three months beginning on September 1, 2022, or until the date of the appointment of a regular incumbent for the post, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, in accordance with a directive issued by the Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers.

Dr. Mohanty graduated from Berhampur University in Odisha with a master’s degree in business management. He graduated from IIM Lucknow’s Executive Development Program and IIM Kolkatta’s Advanced Management Program. He brings with him a wealth of experience spanning more than 26 years, primarily in the marketing of agri inputs. From 1989 to 2015, he held various positions at Rashtriya Chemical & Fertilizers Ltd (RCF), a Mumbai-based company.Mohanty won the RCF “Best Employee” Award in 2012 and the “Marketing Man of the Year” award in 1995. Hindustan Insecticides Limited received several prestigious awards under the leadership of Dr. Mohanty, including the CSR Excellence Award from Bureaucracy Today, the Innovative HR Practices Award from Times Ascent, and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) Award.
