“Springer Nature” Hosts a Rising Conclave at SOA with an emphasis on integrity in research

The Research Integrity in Science and Education (RISE) initiative was introduced on Tuesday by Springer Nature, a global publisher that offers platforms, services, and content to the scientific community. The RISE Conclave was held at the Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University (SOA) in Bhubaneswar. Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, who was present at the program, stated that the project would foster an environment that is favorable for research in higher education.

The goal of this pan-India research integrity initiative was to improve optimal research practices in Indian research communities by focusing on accessibility, empowerment, advocacy, and cultural change. As part of Springer Nature’s India Research Tour 2024, this event will be followed by RISE road shows, which will include seminars, knowledge sessions, and learning courses for researchers throughout India the following month. According to Parida, the conclave upheld the idea of ethical excellence in research while providing a platform for discussion, cooperation, and creativity. It was not an academic event.

“Such endeavours are of great importance as the objectives align with India’s National Education Policy 2020,” she said adding the need today was for academicians and researchers to think innovatively and look for sustainable solutions to address various issues facing the country.

Springer Nature organized the conference in association with the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), Ministry of Education, and SOA. Educationists and researchers from all around the nation attended. Prof. Dhananjay Singh, Member Secretary, ICSSR; Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda, Vice-Chancellor, SOA; Mr. Venkatesh Sarvasiddhi, Managing Director, Springer Nature India; Prof. Prasanta Kumar Panigrahi, Director, SOA’s Center for Quantum Science and Technology; and Prof. Manas Kumar Mallick, Director, Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER) were among the other speakers at the inaugural session. AICTE Chairman Prof. T.G. Sitharam also addressed the inaugural session.
