The Odisha Crime Branch Special Task Force (STF) has seized one crawl worth of brown sugar from a railroad crossing near the Aradabazaar in the Balasore district.
One accused has been arrested in connection with the incident. The defendant was identified as Sheikh Sukra.
Based on credible filings, the STF team attacked and seized 1.50 kg of brown sugar, 28,100 rupees of cash, and other convicted material from the defendant. Following the seizure, Sukra was arrested and referred to the Spl District & Sessions court , Balasore .
The STF has also registered the case under section 21 (c) of the 1985 NDPS Act, and further investigation of the case is underway.
Since 2020, STF has seized over 56 kg of brown sugar, 202 g of cocaine, 111 quintals of marijuana, and 750 g of opium, and arrested over 157 drug dealers and merchants.e
