This questionnaire aims to understand Naaz Tabassum’s perspectives, experiences, and vision in the field of social work.

  1. What inspired you to take up social work as your field of passion and profession?
Answer:My own life experiences inspired me to take up social work. I have seen struggles very closely, faced hardships, and learned the value of empathy and support. These challenges shaped me into a person who deeply understands the pain of others. I realized that if I could extend a helping hand, guide, or even just listen to someone in need, it could bring a meaningful change in their life. That realization became my inspiration

  1. How do you define the role of a social worker in today’s rapidly changing society?
Answer:A social worker today is not just a helper but also an advocate, a guide, and a voice for those who are unheard. In a world where change is constant and challenges are many, the role of a social worker is to bring balance by addressing social issues, creating awareness, and standing beside people in their struggles. More than ever, society needs compassion, and a social worker becomes that bridge between problems and solutions.
  2. What challenges have you faced in your journey as a social worker, and how did you overcome them?
Answer:One of the main challenges I faced was resistance — people not easily accepting change or being hesitant to open up. At times, limited resources also made it difficult to provide immediate solutions. I overcame these hurdles through patience, persistence, and building trust. I learned that small consistent efforts, kindness, and honest communication gradually open doors. Every challenge taught me to stay firm in my purpose.
  3. Which areas of social work do you feel require the most attention in your community right now?
Answer:In my community, I feel that mental health awareness, healthcare support, and education require the most attention. Many people silently suffer from stress, financial burden, and lack of opportunities. If we focus on these three areas — healthcare, educatio and emotional well-being — we can uplift not only individuals but entire families and future generations.
  4. Can you share an experience where your efforts created a meaningful change in someone’s life?
Answer:There was a young girl who had almost given up on her education due to financial difficulties. I encouraged her, guided her parents, and helped her with resources to continue her studies. Today, she is not only pursuing her higher education but is also mentoring younger children in her area. That small effort created a ripple effect, and seeing her confidence grow remains one of the most fulfilling moments of my journey.
  5. What message would you like to give to the younger generation who wish to pursue social work?
Answer:My message would be — social work is not just a profession, it is a calling of the heart. If you choose this path, do it with sincerity, patience, and compassion. Never expect quick results; instead, focus on small steps that bring long-lasting impact. Even a smile, a kind word, or a bit of encouragement can be life-changing for someone.

7. What are your future goals and vision in the field of social work?
Answer:My vision is to create a space where people feel safe, supported, and empowered. I wish to work more in the fields of healthcare, education, and women’s empowerment, ensuring that no one is left behind due to lack of resources. My goal is to continue learning, growing, and touching as many lives as possible with kindness and dedication.
