Inaugurating the Bootcamp, Satyabrata Sahu, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Revenue and Disaster Management, informed that Blockchain, a distributed ledger technology, enables a layer of trust and eliminates the need for a third party to validate the transactions.
He told that the Land Records system including Land Registration, Mutation, Bhunaksha etc. is the best sector to implement Blockchain. It will increase the trust, auditability, traceability and immutability of data. Guest of Honour Madhusmita Sahu, Joint Secretary, Department of Revenue and Disaster Management, informed that Blockchain Technology’s unique combination of cryptography and distributed peer-to-peer network of nodes allows data to be maintained and validated in a trusted ecosystem.
She added that pilot can be implemented in the state taking Unique Land Parcel Identification No (ULPIN) as the unique Blockchain ID for integration of Land Records.
