Terrorists Attack Army Vehicle in Jammu and Kashmir’s Akhnoo: Casualties Reported

Last week, two soldiers and two civilians lost their lives when terrorists ambushed army vehicles in the Baramulla district. On Monday morning, an Indian Army vehicle was targeted in the Battal area of Akhnoor, but alert soldiers successfully thwarted the attack. “An army vehicle came under fire, but no injuries or casualties were reported. A search operation is currently underway,” stated Army officials. The troops were able to prevent what could have been a significant terror incident.

Officials reported that a convoy transporting personnel from a Rashtriya Rifles unit, along with civilian porters, was en route to the Nagin post in the Afrawat range when terrorists opened fire on two army trucks at Botapathri, located about 6 km from the tourist destination of Gulmarg.In a separate incident days earlier, a local doctor and six non-local laborers were shot dead by terrorists at a tunnel construction site in the Gagangir area of Ganderbal.
