Odisha’s first documentary on hockey named ‘The Mountain Hockey’ has been released on popular OTT platform Hotstar. This is the first Odia documentary which is based on the struggles and hardship in the teaching of hockey.
As per the report, the documentary is based on the struggle and success story of a selfless hockey coach Rajendra Kujur, who goes through trying times and a lot of hardships in teaching the game to poor tribal girls in a remote village of Amalikhaman in Sundargarh district and the entire documentary has been shot in this village.

According to Debashis Mohapatra and Abinash Pradhan who have jointly directed the film stated that the idea behind the documentary struck them first during the successful hosting of Hockey World Cup 2018 in Bhubaneswar.

However, the duo later came to know about the heart-wrenching and inspiring story of coach Kujur and his wards which they decided to picturize in their documentary.
