One such messiah, living in the lands of Odisha, is Dr. Achutya Samanta.

Dr. Achutya Samanta – Championing The Tribal Cause
Achutya Samanta is not a name or a public figure in Odisha; he is the god of millions of impoverished and famished souls in the state. Moreover, he is an inspiration for infinite youth, who dreams of becoming an outstanding personality in society despite coming from a humble background. Sadly, Dr. Samantha lost his father when he was just four and led a life of poverty with his mother and siblings. However, today he is the founder of one of the most prominent educational institutions in India, KIIT (Kalinga Institute Of Industrial Technology).

Moreover, Dr. Samanta is also the founder of the most incredible institution, KISS (Kalinga Insitute Of Social Sciences), which provides free accommodation, food, healthcare, and education from class 1 till post-graduation with vocational training for tribal students. Along with KIIT and KISS, he is an honorable MP of Lok Sabha from BJD and members of UGC and AICTC. Moreover, he is a promoter of culture and the arts through Kadambini Media Pvt Ltd (KMPL), an organization he established.
Therefore, Achutya Samanta dreams big and works hard to achieve his dream. Moreover, he believes in all equality, which motivates him to work every day to better society.
After the relaxation of lockdown, there has been a reemergence of Achutya Samanta both in his professional and personal life. While KIIT and KISS got great academic recognition, Dr. Samanta continued his outstanding work and assured help to the indigent.

KIIT Ranked as No.1 in Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements

The KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, was ranked as No.1 among the country’s self-financing institutions in the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) 2020 Union Ministry of Education.
KIIT was the only educational institution or University from Odisha to bag this title and was successfully featured in the top-five list of ARIIA rankings.
KIIT University Was Honoured With Utkrisht Sansthan Vishwakarma Award-2020
Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT)was honored with the Utkrisht Sansthan Vishwakarma Award 2020. The University was awarded because of its outstanding administration in distinct fields leading to significant contributions towards National growth and development.
Dr. Achyuta Samanta Helping 2 Divyang Girls By Ensuring Them To Provide Jobs
Jyostna Majhi and Laxmi Patro from Kandhamal had a complicated life, and due to COVID, things have turned upside down for these two disabled girls. They left their homes and shifted to Bhubaneswar to take up vocational training with a dream of becoming independent. Jyostna was doing DTP, and Laxmi took up a tailoring job in Bhubaneswar. But to the national lockdown, both the girls lost their jobs and were in a completely devastating condition during this pandemic. For the last six months, they were staying at a school.
Dr. Samanta, after getting to know about the situation, assured that the girls would be provided employment at KISS and stay as in the staff quarters. Specific arrangements will be made before they join. Moreover, the girls were immediately provided with Rs 10000 for their sustenance.
Opening Of Post COVID Care Specialty Clinic in KIMS
Under Dr. Samanta’s guidance, KIMS hospital opened a Speciality Clinic in its OPD complex to cater to patients suffering from the post-Covid syndrome. Senior Specialists of Internal Medicine and Respiratory Medicine attend these patients on all working days from 10 AM to 1 PM. Patients having lungs or kidney injury are investigated and, if required, referred to a Rheumatologist, Cardiologist, Neurologist, or Psychiatrist.
This specialty clinic has been of immense help to those discharged from Covid hospital but develop symptoms even after getting some treatment and have associated diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart diseases.

Boosting Development Of Kandhamal District Amidst The Corona Scare
Dr. Samanta had long detailed discussions on COVID19 management and the ongoing development work at Kandhamal with the Collector And District Magistrate of Kandhamal.
After persistent talks and Achutya, Samantha and his team induced strategies to fight the pandemic without losing focus on development successfully.

Providing Relief To Small Scale Fish Farmers
With the help of the Collectorate of Kandhamal, Dr. Achutya Samantha came to the rescue of small-scale fish farmers by providing them autorickshaws and iceboxes to ease their transportation and storage burden.

Catering Employment To The Youth Of Kandhamal
With great efforts, Dr. Samantha persuaded KPR Mills Ltd Group Chairman KP Ramasamy to recruit Kandhamal’s youth for Coimbatore’s operations. He was able to encourage Ramasamy, who assured to employ thousands of youth from Kandhamal.

Other Philanthropic Works For The Upliftment Of Tribal Comunity
Dr. Samatha, distributed masks and essential sanitization materials to the members of SADHAN (Society for Accelerated Development of Harijan and Adivasi Nationals), a non-profit humanitarian organization that develops and administers foster care, health, education, and community development in Phulbani, Odisha.
He provided a laptop to Parameswar Mallick, thereby helping him with online classes. He was not able to attend classes due to the lack of a smartphone or laptop. Earlier, Samantha had also helped him to take admission in Kendra Vidyalaya on MP Quota, knowing about his potential and the lack of means as he comes from a modest tribal family.
Under his direction, KISS Foundation helped three orphans of Lima Panchayat in Kundra Block of Koraput district after the parents’ untimely death. Upon hearing about the news, Samantha was quick to help them. Out of the five children, three children have agreed to study at KISS. They will be admitted to one of the satellite centers of KISS once the Institution reopens.
