It is September 8th, 2023 in Bhubaneswar. TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL) is a government-private partnership between Tata Power and the state of Odisha, and it is committed to promoting sustainable economic and social development in the areas where it operates.
Consistent with this commitment and as part of a CSR effort, TPCODL proudly established its second Vocational Training Centre in Khordha under Project ‘Roshni’ on September 1, 2023.
Dignitaries from the TPCODL executive team attended the opening ceremony and participated in a tree-planting project on the grounds to show their support for a greener future.
Free of charge, local women can enrol in a six-month modular course in Self Employed Tailoring Courses at the Vocational Training Centre (VTC) that has been approved by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). Participants who complete the requirements for the programme and meet all NSDC standards will be awarded certificates. All the guests took a “oath of safety” at the opening ceremony, and then the trainees put on a cultural show for everyone.
Mr. Arvind Singh, CEO of TPCODL, spoke during the event, saying, “during TPCODL, we are devoted to strengthening impoverished people and our local neighbourhoods through this Vocational Training Centre. Women in the neighbourhood can participate in a free six-month training programme that will teach them valuable skills.
Graduates who meet NSDC requirements will be awarded credentials that will help them find stable employment. The Vocational Training Centre (VTC) is evidence of TPCODL’s dedication to its mission of fostering local self-sufficiency via education and training.
