Appearing on Barstool Sports’ Pardon My Take podcast, Lawrence revisited the widely circulated clip in which his father, Jeremy Lawrence, was caught on camera with a stoic expression while his son was being selected as the No. 1 overall pick by the Jaguars.
“That was so funny. I was dying,” Lawrence said with a laugh. “Everyone was celebrating, and there’s my dad — just stone-faced. That clip blew up instantly.”
The quarterback admitted that while it was a huge night for his career, the internet had a field day with his father’s reaction. “He was obviously proud, just not the most expressive guy,” Lawrence added.
