- Can you share the initial inspiration or moment that sparked your interest in writing?
Ans: I had always been fond of fantasy and as a prolific book reader I found the lovecraftian genre of horror most fascinating. All these prompted me to try these stories which are not the typical horror stories but would leave you with a sense of unease.
- How did you navigate the early stages of your writing career, and what challenges did you face?
Ans: As an author I tend to observe and feel human emotions and the layers of human reactions a little more than ordinary. Once I start capturing the impressions I gather throughout my experiences, I never find the requirement of taking a pause in binding the flow cohesively.Well, I would not term it as a challenge but I really put a lot of mindshare deciding the individual subjects I would deal with in each story.
- Balancing a profession and hobbies can be demanding; how do you manage to find time for both writing and your personal interests?
Ans: Well, if it is your passion and your only outlet then it’s not difficult to manage both the roles. Writing gives me oxygen that I breathe in and my profession gives me food to survive so both go hand in hand to keep me going.
- What strategies or routines do you employ to maintain your creativity and productivity as a writer?
Ans: I try to put myself into the characters and then start building up on their images, it helps me to decipher the thought processes each would have. Since I feel each of my characters, there is no dearth of creativity and productivity follows.
- Winning the Sharadiya Utkal Samman is a significant achievement; how does it feel to receive this recognition, and what does it mean for your future projects?
Ans: It is a surreal feeling! It’s deeply gratifying as I feel I have been able to do justice to my passion. The recognition would surely fuel my pen and I would continue creating and weaving tales.
