The Commissionerate Police Bhubaneswar and Cuttack have launched a helpline no. 8093028100 to help/assist senior citizens during the lockdown and weekend shutdown in Odisha.
During the lockdown and shutdown which is imposed in the state is causing several problems for the senior citizens, so the Commissionerate Police of the twin cities has launched a special helpline number which will help them to assist.
Police Commissioner SK Priyadarshi in a video message stated that if a senior citizen faces any problem he/she can call this number and let know his/her problem and this number is open round the clock.
He further informed that this apart for the last five days the Commissionerate Police has been interacting with at least 70-80 senior citizens on an average daily through its call centre enquiring about their wellbeing. He stated that their main objective is to try to reach senior citizens so that they can help them.
He requested all the citizens to reach or inform them through this helpline number if they are facing any sort of problems. He also said that police may not be having a solution to all problems but police will certainly and expeditiously try their best for finding a solution if it has any.
According to the official report, over 25,000 senior citizens are registered with the Commissionerate Police and the latter has their phone numbers. The helpline will be helpful to the senior citizens during the lockdown period.
The Police Commissioner also urged the citizens to strictly adhere to Covid appropriate behaviour to break the chain of transmission and the Commissionerate Police will further intensify its enforcement activities and take stern action on violators.
