Police claim that after the militants opened fire on a search party of the troops, who responded by firing back, the search operation degenerated into an engagement. An AK-47 rifle and a handgun, among other weapons and ammo, were found on the terrorists killed in the encounter, according to the police.Shakir Majid Najar and Hanan Ahmad Seh, two identified terrorists from the Shopian area, belonged to the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba organisation, according to Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Vijay Kumar.In a clash with security personnel on Wednesday in the Kupwara area of Jammu & Kashmir, two terrorists were killed.
