State Government of Odisha announced to construct of a new ultra-modern bus terminal at Khan Nagar in Cuttack with 12 acres of land with an estimated amount of 65 crores. For the construction of the new terminal at Khan Nagar, the Ring Road will be expanded by two Kilometres.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced that the new ultra-modern bus terminal will be identified after the freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose as he was born at Odia Bazar in Cuttack and also done his schooling in the city.
The project will be constructed under the 5T program of the Odisha Government. As there is a shortage of space at the Badambadi Bus stand for the parking of buses and Cuttack is also termed as the main terminal for the traveling of bus transport. Even the Badambadi bus stand also faces difficulties by the passengers and the travelers faced a lot of problems. Due to these problems, the State government decided to construct a new bus terminal at Khan Nagar.
As per the reports by the officials the new bus terminal which is to be constructed will have a dedicated pavilion to share information with the citizens on the life and struggle of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. The terminal will have a variety of leitmotif and pictures for the public on the philosophy and history of Netaji.

Even all modern facilities for the benefit of passengers including a large terminal building, regular bus bay, demarcated spaces for local and Mo Bus service, repair and maintenance block, and special parking arrangements for four wheelers and auto rickshaws will be available in the ultra-modern bus terminal.
For passengers to rest a three-storeyed terminal building will be constructed which will also provide a food court, cloakroom, ticket counter, e-vehicle charging points, rooftop rainwater harvesting, and solar panels.
For the parking facilities, the terminal will have 180 buses at a given point in time. An integrated information management system will also be given for the benefit of passengers.
Development Commissioner, Additional Chief Secretary Home department, Principal Secretary Commerce & Transport department, Principal Secretary Housing & Urban Development department, Principal Secretary Finance, Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Central) and Collector Cuttack were presented in the meeting.
