Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched the electricity consumer service portal “Mo Bidyut” and Mobile App through video conference. The mobile app is a bilingual online electricity combined consumer service portal. The event started with a welcome address by Nikunja Bihari Dhal, Principal Secretary Energy. Then GRIDCO Chairman Sourabh Garg talked about the advantages of this portal. The event was witnessed by the Development Commissioner, Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, and the Energy Department’s senior functionaries.
The consumer service portal (www.mobidyut.com) produced by the Energy Department, is devoted to all the public, which comes under the 5T initiative. Now Odisha people can quickly assist with an efficient, time-bound, and transparent online service delivery. CM Patnaik said that under the 5T mechanism, this mobile app is an extra transformational initiative. Now the electricity services will come under “MO Sarkar.” CM further explained that electricity is an essential commodity for people, and the results directly affect daily life. Due to this from henceforth, this service will be controlled under “Mo Sarkar.” The Ministers and all the senior officials associated with this service will be in direct contact will all the consumers for feedback and suggestions.
Because of the COVID situation, people are facing many difficulties to come out and pay their bills. But right now, people need not have to go out to various offices for new connections or bill payments or complaint redressal. Before, it was mandatory to go to the Government offices to getting any kind of public service. Still, with the changing technology, the government is making it easier to avail of public services. This service will profit more than 89 Lakh electricity consumers of Odisha.
CM also requested the general public to take advantage of this facility for solving their electricity issues or problems in an effortless, simple, and quick manner. He further informs that soon, the Mobile App facility will be available in the Google play store for public download. Designed as a uniform online facility for all four Power Utilities of the State such as TPCODL, NESCO, WESCO, and SOUTHCO, this portal is also implemented with a usual acceleration matrix & Dash-board facility to assure a steady flow of service disposal, status updating, and enforcing accountability of utility officials towards consumer issues.
