After the Indian Medical Association (IMA) lashed out on Yoga Guru Ramdev for his remarks on allopathy, the Centre has taken note of his recent observation and also conveyed the message that he should withdraw those comments.
After his comment on the allopathy, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) write it down to the Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan to prosecute Ramdev under the Epidemic Diseases Act 1897 and also demanded an apology for commenting on the modern medicines.
Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan stated in a tweet that the yoga guru’s remarks have hurt the sentiments of doctors who are fighting the coronavirus pandemic.
He quoted- “The doctors fighting the Covid-19 pandemic day and night, are akin to deities for the people of the nation. Baba @yogrishiramdev has hurt the sentiments of the nation, as it disrespected the corona warriors. I have written a letter to him asking him to withdraw his objectionable statement.”
Vardhan stated that Ramdev terming allopathic practices as ‘Tamasha’ and ‘Bekaar’ was unfortunate and highlighted the fact that the current recovery rate and low case fatality rate in India are due to stellar efforts of the doctors only.
Lately, Ramdev referred to allopathy as a stupid and bankrupt business and also said “Lakho logo ki maut Allopathy ki dawai khane se hui hai.”
