Union Minister Bishweswar Tudu Slams Odisha Govt Over Amarda Airstrip

Bishweswar Tudu, the Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, criticized the Odisha government today for not taking the state’s development efforts seriously. The long-pending demand for the construction of Amarda Airstrip, according to the minister, was once again denied because of the refusal and uncooperative behavior of the Odisha Government. He said that despite the state government representatives not showing up to accept it despite the DRDO sending a letter to the collector directing him to do so, the central government and the Ministry of Defense had been to Odisha to offer the land for the airport.

In order to help the residents of Mayurbhanj, as well as those in the northern part of Odisha, the southern part of Jharkhand, and the south-western portion of West Bengal, he said that from the very beginning of his social life, he worked day and night for a commercial airport in Mayurbhanj, Odisha.

Following many discussions with the civil aviation and defense ministers, the ministry of defense was required to transfer 160.35 acres of land for Rs 26,03,10.438 to the state government of Odisha by October 10, 2023, in exchange for approval to build an airport in Mayurbhanj. In order to give the land to the State Government, he claimed, five officers from the Ministry of Defence traveled to Mayurbhanj.

“Adequate cooperation was also undertaken with the relevant State Government personnel. Around 2,000 locals were there for this momentous occasion, but not a single official from the government of Odisha showed up prepared to accept the property from the ministry of defense, according to the MoS.

Bishweswar Tudu said that the development of the State of Odisha has been neglected by the Government of Odisha. He continued, “The attitude of the State Government has been reluctance and non-cooperation in any developmental initiative started by the Central Government.
