Kerala’s contribution to the blue-collar labour migration from India to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region has drastically decreased over the previous ten years, according to a recent report. Huntr, a platform that helps employers recruit blue-collar workers, found that Kerala saw a 90% drop in workers leaving the country for Middle Eastern countries.
According to the report, this change resulted in Uttar Pradesh (UP) and Bihar taking the lead in contributing to the Gulf migration scene by filling the gap left by Kerala.
