When and how did the idea of opening Vedic Culture come to your mind?
Two years back, I was facing some health issues. With someone’s reference, I went to visit a doctor at a Govt hospital for a second opinion. However, in the hospital, I was shocked to see that our nation still lacks essential health & sanitation. Hospitals have no beds; people are lying on floors in a metro city like Delhi. Therefore, I came to the conclusion that I need to look for an alternative resource for providing healthcare facilities to all.
Secondly, the “Swach Bharat Mission” initiative of Honourable Prime Minister Narender Modi boosted my confidence in providing primary health & sanitation to the common people of the nation. Therefore, after having inquiries with a few doctors, I realized a deleterious lifestyle is the root cause of our ill health.
I decided to venture into Ayurveda as it helps in curing and preventing diseases without any side effects.
Substance abuse (use of drugs, alcohol, tobacco) is frequent these days among all groups. Do you cite any particular reason behind the craze of its addictiveness?
There are two major reasons for the addictiveness of smoking, drinking & consumption of drugs. The first is the influence of western culture, which has been a hot topic debate in lots of shows, off-late. Late night parties, drinking & smoking has become a style statement for the people of generation-X. The second reason, however, is a bit different. Highly stressed jobs, dissatisfaction, and conflicts within personal & professional life have also caused enslavement to these highly harmful substances.
Do you think the ever-competitive scenario of the modern world is the principal reason for mental and physical health issues?
Absolutely yes. I treat this as the foremost reason for health issues, apart from the influence of western culture. People are running behind success, which has no end. There should always be a healthy competition but not at the cost of health & happiness.
Just for an example- In India, fever is treated with medicines, but in case of stress, people tend to opt for smoke or few drinks. This has resulted in major health issues. Even after advertising, we see that 27.1 % of all cancer patients in 2020 are due to the consumption of tobacco. (as per the ICMR reports The Print)
