Amid the spur in the covid-19 cases in the state, the state government has clamped a weekend shutdown in all the urban areas of the state since last week. As a result, Dhenkanal town wore a deserted look today as every shops and other establishments were closed except emergency services.
People were asked to stay indoors by the local administration unless that necessary and anyone violating the shutdown guidelines will be penalized according to the law.
Notably, as of 30th April 2021 the total number of positive cases of the district stands at 6142 while 5898 people have recovered so far and total active cases stands at 215.
The district also reported 42 fresh Covid-19 positive cases and as many as 29 people have succumbed to the deadly virus till now as report shared by the district administration.
