Mad rush captures Dhenkanal vaccination centre

Dhenkanal: The covid-19 vaccination centre present inside the district headquarters hospital of Dhenkanal seems to be overcrowded since last few days. People were seen jostling there to enter inside the vaccination centre. Many people of Dhenkanal district who visited the vaccination centre for inoculating the jab are returning after experiencing mad rush at the centre from the last few days.
This situation aroused after the district administration reopened the vaccination centre which was closed for some period due to lack of vaccines in the district. As soon as the vaccines arrived and vaccination centre reopened, people rushed into it to get their jab following the rising cases in the district.

Along with that, the vaccination centre present inside the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) has been overcrowded from the last couple of days and people were seen jostling to enter inside the vaccination centre. Even some people have been seen queuing up from 5.00 am in the early morning to get their place assured for vaccination. Subsequently, this creates burden over the administrative authorities of the centres to control the crowd.
Overcrowding in the centres resulted in violation the covid-19 protocols as everyone is in a hurry to inoculate the jab at first.

“I am afraid after seeing such a huge crowd here, many people are not wearing the mask properly and not maintaining social distance norms. This can get us infected even before getting the jab and I request the administration to take proper steps to tackle this problem,” said Sankuntala Sahu who came to receive her jab at DHH hospital.
Many elderly persons also complained about the prevailing situation and expressed their concern in this regard.
On the other hand, talking about it, the district additional medical officer Dr. Jayakrushna Nayak said, ” As of now there are two security personnel, one home guard, one data entry operator, one ANM sister and one in charge is present. As the vaccination drive was closed for few days, the increase in number was expected and we request to district administration to provide more us adequate personnel as we going to inoculate the Jab to 18-45 years old.”
Worth mentioning, nationwide vaccination roll out has been started since January,2021 against the and now people between the age group of 18-45 can get the jab as directed by the government.
