Work Permission Granted For Bhubaneswar Railway Station Redevelopment

The building of the Elevated Driveway and Exit Road on the Master Canteen side of the Bhubaneswar Railway Station has been approved by the Odisha government, marking a significant advancement in the station’s rehabilitation. This advancement will shorten the project’s duration and is essential to the Station’s renovation. On the property allotted by the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA), the authorization expressly permits the building of the Elevated Approach and Exit Road. In accordance with the cooperative planning between East Coast Railway (ECoR) and BDA, the action will guarantee that the reconstruction project goes without a hitch.

The Bhubaneswar building Authority will be consulted throughout the building of parking lots and commercial spaces inside the station premises as part of the larger Station Redevelopment. In order to ensure that the interests of the Railway Station and BDA are in line and create a contemporary, lively station complex for the future, BDA also intends to develop commercial areas over the land that has been assigned to them.

The Bhubaneswar Station Redevelopment and Modernization project will be completed more quickly because to this improvement. It is anticipated that construction will commence right away, with the Elevated Driveway foundation being built. The entire project is on schedule and includes an air-concourse, lifts, escalators on all platforms, and new access and exit ways for the station. Modern passenger amenities and facilities will be created as a consequence of the ₹419 crore that Indian Railways is investing in the renovation project. A separate entry and exit area, an air concourse connecting all the platforms, lifts and escalators, a baggage security check-in area, an information center, a food plaza, a waiting room, etc. are all included.
