Works Minister Harichandan Reviews Berhampur-Jeypore High-Speed Corridor, Green Field Project

Law, Works, and Excise Minister Prithviraj Harichandan presided over a review meeting where the proposed Berhampur-Jeypore High-Speed Corridor and Green Field Project was addressed. With cars capable of reaching 120 kmph, this project seeks to cut the seven-hour journey from Berhampur to Jeypore down to only three hours.

Four tunnels will be incorporated into the proposed corridor to reduce the likelihood of accidents on mountainous terrain. Along this high-speed corridor, Minister Harichandan underlined the significance of enhancing connectivity between major cities, mining sites, and industrial zones while simultaneously making sure that the project does not negatively impact biodiversity areas.

Officials have been urged to draft a strategy that gives environmental preservation first priority in order to accomplish this. In order to increase public acceptance of the proposed corridor, the Minister further emphasized the necessity of effective land acquisition and forest land settlement. Principal Secretary V. V. Yadav, Special Secretary Deepak Das, Chief Engineer (Civil) Purnachandra Mahapatra, OBCC Joint Adviser Jay Krushna Das, and SPARC Managing Director Shubdarshi Mishra were among the important authorities in attendance.
