‘Wrong injection’ deteriorates health condition of 21 patients at MKCG


Health condition of as many as 21 patients undergoing treatment at the medicine ward of MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Bermapur allegedly became critical after they were administered with injection on Friday morning.

According to reports, the patients got admitted to the hospital few days back owing to diarrhoea and were undergoing treatment at Unit 1 of Medicine Ward. They were administered three injections each by a nurse under the supervision of a doctor in the morning.

Soon after the injection was administered to them, all of them started shivering severely.  In order to control the situation, patients were put on oxygen masks.

Meanwhile, doctors refuted the allegations of administering wrong injections saying ‘The patients were given injections according to their disease and symptoms.”

Doctors after attending patients revealed that the patients were given routine injections like antibiotics and gastric injections which reacted.  Also, injections were given under the guidance of concerned doctor. The attendants were given files of injections.
