The Indian Court took a big and historic decision yesterday. Senior Kashmir leader Yasin Malik who was linked to several terror activities held in India has been sentenced to rigorous life imprisonment by an Indian court yesterday.
Yasin Malik has been sentenced to life over several charges, including “terror funding”, triggering street protests outside his residence, and condemnation from the Kashmiris diaspora worldwide.
Last week, a special Indian court convicted the 56-year-old chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) on charges of “terrorism and funding acts of terror” after he “pleaded guilty” to all the 10 charges. However, he told the court on Wednesday that he had been practicing non-violent politics after giving up arms in the 1990s.
