According to reports, two worshippers became ill and unconscious on Sunday at the Puri Jagannath temple as a result of a stampede-like circumstance.According to early accounts, there was a significant rush to see the gods at the Jagannath temple this morning. The Makar Sankranti ceremonies were finished yesterday, therefore the ‘Dwara Phita’ rituals started considerably later than expected today. Devotees had been waiting outside the temple since early in the morning.
As soon as the gates opened, worshippers rushed inside to see Singhadwara for the first time.
Sulochana Sahu, one of the injured devotees, claimed that while preparing Mangala alati close to Bhitara-katha, she slipped and passed out. In order to receive the appropriate care, Sulochana Sahu and another devotee have been admitted to the Puri hospital. Dibya, another minor devotee, was let go from the hospital. It is important to note that on Saturday, during the Makar Mela, a stampede occurred on the Gopinathpur-Badamba T Bridge in Athagarh, Cuttack, resulting in one fatality and up to 20 serious injuries.
