26 Year Old Indian Student Shot Dead in US

A few days ago, an Ohio automobile in the United States shot and killed a 26-year-old Indian doctorate student at the University of Cincinnati.According to Fox 19, which cited the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office, Aaditya Adlakha, a PhD candidate in the molecular and developmental biology programme, was shot on November 9 and died at the university’s medical centre on November 18.

The medical school released a statement expressing its sympathies to his family and friends, characterising the tragedy as “sudden, tragic, and senseless.” Senior Vice President of Health Affairs and dean of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine Andrew Filak called the Indian doctorate student “much-loved, exceedingly kind and humorous, intelligent and sharp, whose research was described as novel and transformative.”

Adlakha’s damaged body was discovered by Cincinnati police the day after the event inside the vehicle that had collided with a wall.The Indian student was taken to the UC Medical Centre immediately after the unfortunate event in order to receive treatment. Unfortunately, two days later, he passed away from his wounds.An announcement from the institute states that Adlakha was awarded the Graduate Student Stipend and Research Cost Programme award by the University Research Council (URC) last year in order to fund a study on ulcerative colitis. It was anticipated that he will finish his PhD in 2025.

Adlakha graduated from the University of Delhi’s Ramjas College with a bachelor’s degree in zoology in 2018. He then went on to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi to get his master’s degree in physiology in 2020 before relocating to Cincinnati.
Since the gunshot was reported, no arrests have been made, and the motive behind the incident is unknown.
