Showcasing Odisha’s rich art, culture, and scenic tourism destinations, the tourism festival ‘Odisha Parab’ is set to be held in Guwahati, Assam. The Odisha government’s Tourism Department will organise the three-day event at a premier hotel in Guwahati from January 30 to February 1. Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, who also holds the tourism portfolio, along with senior state government officials, has already arrived in Guwahati for the event.
The festival will celebrate Odisha’s vibrant culture, traditional crafts, and distinctive cuisine, the Deputy Chief Minister said while addressing the media in Guwahati ahead of the event. Inviting wide participation, Parida, in a post on X, called upon the Odia diaspora, the people of Assam, and tourists visiting the state to attend ‘Odisha Parab’.
The event will offer visitors an immersive experience through captivating cultural performances, live demonstrations of traditional handicrafts, authentic Odia cuisine, and curated showcases of Odisha’s diverse tourism offerings, spanning heritage, spirituality, nature, and adventure. The Tourism Department had earlier organised a similar ‘Odisha Parab’ in Bengaluru from November 15 to 17 last year, in collaboration with several government agencies.
To boost tourism and attract visitors from across the globe, the state government has rolled out multiple initiatives in the sector. Recently, two luxury cruise services equipped with world-class facilities were launched to enhance tourist experiences. In addition, eco-retreat facilities have been introduced at seven locations across Odisha for the 2025–26 season to further draw domestic and international tourists.
