Three defendants in the well publicized Baramunda triple murder case were given life sentences by Bhubaneswar ADJ Court-II on Friday, over 27 years after the crime was perpetrated.
Based on the testimony of the witnesses, the court found Rudra, Jitu, and Chitta guilty of three counts of triple murder and sentenced them to life in prison.
Due to previous animosity, the three had ruthlessly killed Biswajit Nayak, Dilip Ray, and Sarada Rath on July 11, 1996.
The fourth culprit in the crime passed away while Rudra, Jitu, and Chitta were being held by the police.
