The number of candidates applying for contesting Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), continues to rise. So far, 371 candidates have taken forms for contesting Corporator polls while 8 aspirants have filled forms to contest for the mayor post.
According to the reports, Additional District Magistrate Prafulla Kumar Swain who is the Election Officer for Bhubaneswar is supervising the process.
Elections will be held for 67 wards in BMC for which 7,25,765 voters will cast their votes. Out of them 3.94 lakh are men and 3.30 lakh are women, while 440 voters are from other category. There will be a total 705 booths for polling.
