Around Rs 1,39,60,479 worth of fraud through online transactions was reported at the Cyber Crime Help Desk of Bhubaneswar Urban Police District (UPD).
According to a monthly summary of the Help Desk released to the press, the report was made to the Cyber Crime Help Desk of Bhubaneswar Urban Police District. The Help Desk has claimed to have been able to recover Rs 10,52,802 from online fraudulent transactions in the month of February.
Similarly, the Help Desk has been able to block fraud amounting to Rs 12,73,483 during the same period. Besides, the Help Desk has registered six cases and generated 21 cyber safe tickets and has successfully blocked 64 numbers.
In the month of February, 94 cases of UPI fraud, 97 cases of Credit/Debit Card fraud and 63 cases of other calls were reported to Help Desk from Bhubaneswar UPD.
