Bhubaneswar: At least 40 passengers of a tourist bus heading from Kolkata to Puri had a close shave when the driver of the vehicle lost control over the wheels and it turned overturned near a petrol pump under Bhandaripokhari police limits in Odisha’s Bhadrak district on Thursday morning.
Of the around 62 passengers on board, 25 sustained varying degrees of injuries and were rushed to the local community health center for treatment. The condition of six passengers is said to be critical.
According to reports, the private bus ‘Sivam’ was heading towards Puri from Kolkata when it overturned near the Chatabar petrol pump along National Highway-16 at around 10.00 am today.
On being informed, Fire Services and police personnel rushed to the spot and started rescue operations. Police, meanwhile, have registered a case and started an investigation.
