According to the National Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) report from NITI Aayog, Odisha’s headcount ratio has decreased from 29.34% in 2015–16 to 15.68% in 2019–21.
On Wednesday, the chief minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik, shared this accomplishment on Twitter. He declared:
“In rural regions, the Multidimensional Poverty Index value decreased from 32.64% in 2015–16 to 17.72% in 2019–21, whereas it decreased from 12.32% to 5.42% in urban areas. Improvements in standard of life, health, and education are among the metrics used to measure the MPI value.
