All monuments and museums under ASI including Konark Sun Temple to be closed till 15th May due to Covid spike

All monuments and museums under the central government have been declared closed today as the epidemic of corona is on the rise. The monument and museum are closed to the public until May 15. A four-line notice was issued by the ASI today. It was also tweeted by Union Culture Minister Prahlad Singh Patel.

All monuments in the state will also be closed due to such an announcement by ASI. Not all monuments operated by ASI will be reopened by the 15th. Starting from the Sun Temple in Konark, the Rajarani Temple will be closed under ASI. The ASI said in a statement that it would take immediate action.

Also last year, all monuments and museums in the country, run by the ASI, were declared closed in the wake of the corona infection.

Notably, the corona infection in India is now on the rise. In the last 10 days, the number of infected people has increased from 100,000 to 200,000. The ASI is said to have taken such a step as the situation is tense.
