Central government orders WhatsApp to withdraw it’s new privacy policy

IT ministry has ordered the WhatsApp to withdraw its new privacy policy. The Delhi High Court had asked the central government and WhatsApp for an answer on WhatsApp’s policy. According to sources, the Ministry of Information and Public Relations has ordered WhatsApp to withdraw its new policy. The central government has given the company four days to respond, or until May 25, and will take necessary steps if no response is received.

A letter was sent by the ministry on May 18. According to IT Ministry sources, the change in the privacy policy of the WhatsApp weakens the value of privacy, data protection. The rights of Indian citizens are being harmed. WhatsApp’s new privacy policy has been in effect since May 15.

The WhatsApp says that if users do not accept the privacy policy, the account will not be deleted. But gradually some features will be turned off. This means that users who do not accept the policy will be placed in a limited functional mode by the company.

In addition, the WhatsApp will stop sending messages and calls to your phone, and users will not be able to read or reply to incoming messages on their WhatsApp.

Notably, audio and video calling on WhatsApp users ’accounts will not be stopped immediately. It has been decided to give users more time to accept the WhatsApp privacy policy after May 15. WhatsApp users will be notified of the new policy after May 15.
